Family Supports & Services
Community schools promote equity by ensuring all students have the opportunities to be successful. In a community school model, students are put at the center. Community schools uplift student voices in order to ensure each individual student feels safe, a sense of belonging and that they have the necessary tools to thrive. The components of community school work are: fostering authentic family and community engagement, creating powerful learning opportunities outside of the school day, integrating health and social supports, establishing inclusive leadership, providing resource coordination and creating shared ownership.
