New Asst. Director of Teaching & Learning

Jenny Brunke
 Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning


Jenny began her career in Rantoul, IL, where she taught 6th-8th grade Language Arts. In Rantoul, Jenny also served as the Language Arts Department Head, New Staff Mentor, and as a Literacy Coach. Jenny joined District 33 as an Instructional Coach at Leman Middle School in 2018 and is currently D33’s Lead Literacy Teacher. This is Jenny’s 14th year in education and sixth year with District 33. Highlights of Jenny’s tenure here include but are not limited to membership in the Academic Leadership Council, serving as Chair of the Elementary Literacy and Social Studies Subject Area Committees, facilitating the Spanish Language Arts Curriculum Leadership Team, serving as a member of the Science Curriculum Leadership Team, and working alongside the Instructional and MLL Coaches. Her passions for teaching and learning lie in literacy development and curricular design. Most of Jenny’s education was obtained at the University of Illinois, where she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Secondary Education, a minor in History, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Language and Literacy Development.


Additionally, Jenny holds a Master’s of Educational Leadership with a Principal Endorsement from Aurora University. Jenny is a lifelong student at heart. One of her favorite things about working for D33 is the established culture of learning and continuous improvement among staff. She is thrilled to be joining the administrative team.


Jenny resides in Geneva, IL, with her husband, James, and two children, Benjamin (4) and Olivia (2). Jenny would like to thank District 33 and the Board of Education for the opportunity to broaden her service to the children and community of West Chicago.
